Account page blues

I've stopped checking my account page because it's depressing me lately, but some of you have observed that it's still down. Indeed (as depicted above), we're going to have to imagine what we're making. Keep in mind that the dollar figure is a little like looking at stock options based on 10 years of vesting and 15 percent growth. Take them with a grain of salt, and hope that Revver starts swarming with traffic.

BTW- a recent comment was posted by Dawn Westlake... Keep up the Red Couch series- you're onto something, as evidences for your long run on the "Top Rated" section (btw- SOMEONE must be scoring videos if these ratings are changing- who's got the secret key?). Dawn- wouldn't it be nice if the text details accompanying your videos could hyperlink to the artist homepages?

Yeah, Dawn, give it up: How can you get ratings while most others can't!?

And BTW, how come some of my videos which are rated higher than 3.5 aren't on the Top Rated page?

They used to link to my page, before the upgrade. (They also used to do synopses...remember? Ahh...them was the days! ;-))
Thank you soooo much for the sweet comment, "Naults". Can't wait to get you in the red chair...or your wife. ;-)

Rob here yet again.

So we are in the midst of transitioning over to a new account balance/statistics module for the site. During the transition we decided to pay everyone out what was in their accounts. So we are paying out anyone with a balance equal to or greater than $20.

The payout should happen in 3-4 business days and the new modules should be in place right after the payout. I think that everyone will appreciate the new modules to the point where you forget about the few days you didn't get to see your activity.

Maybe even James... I hope... I'm thinking the diesel will redeem itself. :)

Also: the top rated section is generated off of flicks that have been rated at least 10 times and published within 30 days. We're revisiting this method and I am always open to suggestions from our key users.

On our actual release (this is a beta, remember) we will really push the ratings, the importance of it, and also provide a link to an area that would provide the sort of content (synopsis) that Dawn mentioned would be.

Thanks, Rob, for the prompt attention and clarifications...I really appreciate it! With continued forthright communications and "humanity", revver should be the #1 video streaming channel!
We'll keep posting! ;-)

With all the technical hubbub, I almost forgot why I started (participating in) this whole thing in the first place: to get my stuff SEEN ... and to use that visibility to drive traffic to my websites. To get...to use ...to drive.

Then the ratings system distracted me.

The occassional high rating of my stuff is good for getting me extra face time on Revver's front page, but some twisted EMO teenaged gamer in Vancouver, B.C. always comes along with the 1 rating that exiles my videos to the Land of The Dead. I think that kid gives everyone a 1 and gets off on it. I wear my aluminum foil hat when uploading to Revver so the kid won't read my mind and know right way I'm uploading.

Then the Most Viewed section distracted me.

Thank God that thing is gone. What a bummer that was. That dancing housewife thumbnail stayed there so long I thought the image would burn itself into my retina.

I guess better production value in my videos would get me more face time and hits, but what agoraphobic veteran living in a makeshift bedroom in Garland, Texas can afford that?
